🔨 Hammer

2–4 playersMain game

Hammer is a match where either side can "throw the hammer" to double the hole, and the other side either accepts or concedes. Bad Golf App keeps the current multiplier and who holds the hammer visible on every hole.

How Hammer works

How it works: A match-play game (1v1 or 2v2) built around a doubling "hammer." You play each hole for a base value, but at any point a player can throw the hammer to double the game value.

Accept or fold: when the hammer is thrown, the other side either accepts — the value doubles and they hold the hammer next — or declines and concedes the hole right there at the current game. The hammer can be thrown back and forth, doubling each time it's accepted.

Winning the hole: low score wins the hole and its prize pool. Turn on halved holes carry and a tied hole rolls its prize pool forward onto the next hole.

Example: 2 base. You throw the hammer, they accept → 4. A few shots later they hammer back, you accept → 8. You make the low score, so you win 8 on the hole.

Setup options: Units per hole (the base value), use handicaps (net match) on/off, and halved holes carry the prize pool on/off.
